Espresso is for ponies.

A true story. Mostly.

  1. The horse crawls out of bed at 5:30 a.m., wrecked, while the alarm rings.

    5:30. Training at six.

  2. The horse drinks a tiny espresso in the kitchen and is still half asleep.

    Espresso … feel nothing.

  3. The horse throws the espresso cup away, rips open the HKC tin and dumps a huge load into its mug.

    Out with the pony stuff!

  4. After the first sip: X eyes, lightning bolts, double biceps. The mug cracks.

    NOW we’re talking.

Inside: freeze-dried Arabica and Robusta coffee plus 5 g of creatine monohydrate. That’s it.

Not inside: sugar, sweeteners, taurine, colourings, fillers.

Creatine increases physical performance in successive bursts of short-term, high-intensity exercise; the beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 3 g of creatine (Regulation (EU) No 432/2012). Single doses of up to 200 mg and 400 mg of caffeine a day are considered safe for healthy adults by EFSA (2015). Reference values: energy drinks at a typical 32 mg caffeine and 11 g sugar per 100 ml; espresso per EFSA.

Scoop. Shake. Go.

  1. Scoop.

One scoop from the tin: 200 mg of caffeine and 5 g of creatine.

  2. Shake.

Into 300 ml of cold water or milk and shake. Or pour hot water over it, which dissolves the creatine fastest.

  3. Go.

Off to training, to your shift, into your day. One serving is enough.

Comic: a huge muscular horse hoof slams the HKC shaker onto the table, coffee splashing out of the top, an espresso cup shattering against the wall behind.

Questions

When does it launch?

As soon as the first batch is produced. Everyone on the waitlist hears the date first.

How much per day?

One serving. Two at most, because EFSA considers 400 mg of caffeine a day safe for healthy adults.

Does caffeine cancel out creatine?

The studies are mixed. An effect showed up mainly with high creatine loading doses combined with lots of caffeine. One serving of HKC has 5 g of creatine and 200 mg of caffeine.

Hot or cold?

Both. Creatine dissolves fastest when it’s hot. Cold from the shaker, it tastes like iced coffee.

Who shouldn’t drink HKC?

Children, pregnant or breastfeeding women and anyone sensitive to caffeine. HKC has a high caffeine content.

Where do you ship?

Germany first. More countries follow once we have checked labels and regulations there. Shipping is €4.90, and free from €50 and with the bundle, supply and subscription.
